Children are the Future of Our Planet
Children of Israel - Together for Nature
Nature – a Fertile Ground for Inter-Cultural Collaborations
It doesn’t matter if you are Muslim, Druze, Christian or Jewish, children in Israel share the same natural environment – and join together to become the agents of change.
As the global climate crisis accelerates, children face an uncertain future. Climate change, ecological degradation, migrating populations, conflict, and pervasive inequalities, threaten the health and future of children in every country. Raising environmental awareness among children is now a necessity.
Classes take an active part in the program.
Students participate in the program annually.
Adopt a Class – Make an Impact on Children’s Lives
Become a partner in an exciting project, bridging social gaps in Israeli society by providing exceptional experiences in nature, and enhancing awareness of the immediate natural environment, heritage, and landscape among for children whose families cannot otherwise afford this type of activity.
How We’re Changing Their Reality
This project operates extensively among a variety of populations, including Muslims, Druze, Christians, Bedouins and Jews. In light of the inter-communal, religious-secular, and Jewish-Muslim tensions in Israeli life, we view the implementation of values of nature, landscape, and heritage among young people and the public at large as extremely important. These issues go beyond the controversy and can therefore be a basis for understanding, tolerance, and coexistence.
What is it that we do?
Through a well-defined series of trips, Adopt- a- Class helps students get to know the treasures of nature that surround them. Adopt- a- Class thus encourages the creation of a bond between the participants and their local environment, and helps create future citizens who are aware and involved in protecting nature and heritage in Israel.
